The position will provide advanced accounting support to the controller performing reconciliation, analysis, calculations, and assisting with month end close.
Responsibilities
- Balance sheet reconciliations and analysis as assigned
- Assist with month-end close including preparation of accurate and timely financial statements
- Research technical issues as needed
- Maintain CPE requirements and keep team abreast of upcoming accounting/reporting changes
- Review, reconcile, and analyze assigned general ledger accounts during the month end close including journal entries
- Maintain fixed asset listing and cost basis, including capital projects in process
- Understanding of lease accounting, including the new guidelines
- Solid understanding of GAAP guidelines and the application of GAAP framework in accounting processes and procedures
- Detail oriented, with ability to organize, prioritize, and work well independently or with others to meet all required deadlines
- Assist with variety of audits including providing schedules, reports and information as requested
- Ability to provide excellent customer service, both internally & externally
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Outstanding skills in the use of Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Word
- Team oriented
- Highly motivated self- starter
- Ability to document processes and procedures and assist with driving overall efficiencies in the close process
- Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed
- Ad hoc and other duties as assigned
- Consistent and dependable attendance
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA required
- 5 years of experience with solid understanding of GAAP guidelines and the application of GAAP framework in accounting processes and procedures
- Manufacturing experience and ERP System, such as SysPro experience preferred
- Able to effectively work with senior management, customers and vendors.
- At times, must be willing to be “hands-on” to accomplish the workload.
- Must have a high degree of confidentiality and discretion. Must be able to work in a highly automated environment.
