The Mixing & Deposit / Dough Lamination Associate for Café Valley will be responsible to set up, operate, or tend machines to mix or blend materials, such as liquid or solid ingredients.

Responsibilities

  • Consistent and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work weekends and flexible schedules as business needs demand.
  • Ability to work with or around food allergens of all types.
  • Must be able to work within a team environment
  • Must have the ability to stand at machine a minimum of 6 hours without a break and a maximum of 12 hours with a break. There are NO sitting positions or jobs.
  • Must be able to wear/utilize personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces. (Spiral, oven area, etc)
  • Weigh/ measure materials, ingredients, and products.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs consistently per production needs.
  • Procures materials from inventory and combines them into any needed mixing vat or tank
  • Works with Maintenance and Sanitation team members on equipment set-up, performance and safety.
  • Follow the Job Safety Analysis for the area, Lockout / Tagout, and the plant safety and quality programs.
  • Rotate to other job tasks regularly as required by the Production Supervisor.
  • Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, or products to ensure conformance to requirements.
  • Test Samples of materials or products to ensure compliance with specifications, using test equipment.
  • Start machines to mix or blend ingredients such as spices, dough batter, or food products; then allow them to mix for specified times.
  • Dump or pour specified amounts of materials into machinery or equipment.
  • Observe production or monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Stop mixing or blending machines when specified product qualities are obtained and open valves and start pumps to transfer mixtures.
  • Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing.
  • Add or mix chemicals or ingredients for processing, using hand tools or other devices.
  • Complete assigned tasks during product changeovers as directed by Lead, Operator, and Supervisor
  • Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually or with hands to ensure conformance to established standards.
  • Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.
  • Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete.
  • Mark or tag identification on parts.
  • Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.
  • Record information such as the number of products tested, meter readings, or dates and times of product production.
Success factors/job competencies:
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality controls, cost, and other techniques or maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure machine is working properly.
Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
Conducting tasks and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Physical demands and work environment:
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to climb, balance, kneel, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, use hands to finger, grasp, or feel objects, talk or communicate, hear, visually inspect areas to be cleaned, and repetitive motions substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands and/or fingers.
Work environment: Heavy work, team lift with two people lifting up to 120lbs occasionally and/or up to 50lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20lbs of force consistently to move objects.
Inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
Noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
Hazard: Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
