Who You Are
A Manufacturing Controller who is a strategic leadership that can oversee the organization’s operational accounting functions. You will accurately capture, reporting, and analysis of production costs, as well as ensuring the integrity of financial data related to product costing, manufacturing variances, and inventory valuation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost optimization initiatives, present financial insights to executive leadership, and implement best practices in cost management. A strong analytical mindset, a hands-on approach, and passion for data are a must.

You won’t just report numbers — you’ll influence decisions that drive margin improvement and operational efficiency.

Where You Will Work
This is a hybrid role based in Phoenix, AZ. 

Responsibilities

What You Will Do
  • Lead daily oversight of production jobs and cost variance analysis.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all Items/BOMs in the ERP system through regular audits.
  • Conduct regular meetings with operations managers to review job production costs and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead weekly meetings with department managers to review expenses and benchmark against budget.
  • Prepare and distribute the Management Dashboard to the executive leadership team on a weekly basis.
  • Track capital project savings expense/savings on a weekly basis.
  • Direct month-end close activities related to COGS and inventory, including entries and analysis.
  • Present financial information at operations management meetings and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis related to inventory, labor, and operational expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Engage in operational continuous improvement projects by spending time on the production floor at both plants.
  • Research and resolve complex transactions to ensure proper financial reporting.
  • Assist the VP of FP&A during the budgeting/forecasting process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

What You Need to Be Successful
  • 7 years of progressive experience in cost accounting within manufacturing or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; MBA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with relational databases and strong knowledge of cost accounting methodologies.
  • Proven track record of streamlining and automating complex processes.
